Out any day now is the GoPro HD Hero3, the latest and most definitely greatest in the ever evolving GoPro range. Since they turned the action sports filming world on it’s head with the launch of the original Hero camera, GoPro have constantly refined and reinvigorated their line, culminating in the new device. The new camera is 30% smaller than earlier versions – and 25% lighter. What’s more they’ve increased the technical capabilities to something approaching mind-blowing – particularly in a camera this small! The GoPro HD Hero3 is available in three varieties.
White Edition (£200) – Resolution: 1080p at 30fps, 720p at 60fps (slow-mo), with built-in Wi-FI and is both remote and App compatible
Silver Edition (£280) – Resolution: 1080p at 30fps, 720p at 60fps (slow-mo), with built-in Wi-FI and is both remote and App compatible, plus 11 mega pixel / 30 frame per second burst still camera.
Black Edition (£360) – Up to 4K resolution (that’s true broadcast quality) at 12 fps, 2.7kp 30 fps, 1080p at 60fps and 720p at 120 fps (!) Built in WiFi and included remote control, enhanced low light performance and 12 megapixel / 30 fps stills camera!
It’s safe to say that these new cameras are a total game changer and they’re going to be seen not only only mountains all over the world this winter, but they’ll be the camera of choice tfor thousands of rider edits over the coming years.
We’re going to the UK launch of the camera next week – make sure to come back to see what we thought!
