Bataleon moves production back to Europe

What with the majority of the world’s goods now being made in China, it is nice to hear that the Low Pressure Crew have moved ALL of Bataleon and Lobster Snowboards production back to Europe for 2014/15.  Two seasons ago all production was at the ELAN factory in Austria but due to Elan’s bankruptcy production moved to Asia.

Following CAPiTA MFG’s acquirement of the old ELAN factory last year, Low Pressure saw opportunity to bring production back to Europe and now their boards will be produced at the same factory as CAPiTA amongst others.

“It’s been a tough two seasons and moving production isn’t to be taken lightly. It feels very good to have all our snowboards made in Austria again and to have a solid long term production partner who has the same expectations on service, quality and progression that we do. We know the crew at CAPiTA MFG very well. We know that they really care about snowboarding and their new structure gives us a lot of confidence,” says Dennis Dusseldorp – Director at LowPressureStudio

Blue Montgomery – President, CAPiTA MFG added; “Bataleon and Lobster are interesting and unafraid. We recognize their creative contributions to snowboarding, and look forward to building world class snowboards for them in the years ahead.”

Talking of being unafraid, The Helgasons thought it would be nice to unveil their special late graphics for the Lobster Park and Jib Board from a beach in Monaco – Business is going well then, boys? ….take your pick from a T-Rex Unicorn Human Pig or a Woman being burnt at the stake. Being made on a continent near you.
