After a great start to the season, the Stubai Zoo has now moved into winter mode. Supported once again by DC Snowboarding, the snow park in Austria’s biggest glacier skiing area underwent modification in the course of the last few days and was re-opened last weekend. “We have slightly reduced the set-up, but the park still offers the very highest quality,” says Dirk Scheumann of Schneestern, the company which designed the park.

After the Stubai Premiere in October, Stubai Glacier became the gathering place for the who’s-who of the international freestyle skiing and snowboarding scene. At the Stubai Prime Park Sessions and the Stubai Freeski Open, the international elite made the most of a specially prepared line and the excellent conditions on the Gaisskarferner for top-class training sessions and a Slopestyle European Cup.

Over the last few days, the Schneestern team has created two different lines for beginners and advanced riders and will continue to provide daily maintenance over the weeks to come: one easy/jib line and one medium line. This means that everyone will find the ideal obstacle to suit them – regardless of skill level. And due to the high-altitude location, there is always sufficient snow and excellent conditions. It is not for nothing that the Stubai Zoo is regarded as one of the best snow parks in Europe and it is used as a training location by top athletes such as snowboard pro and Stubai Zoo ambassador Sebbe de Buck.

In spring the Stubai Zoo will then undergo further modification for the Spring Sessions and be expanded to Stubai Premiere level. From April 8th, the big Spring Park will then be available again as usual, complete with pro, medium and jib lines.
