This coming weekend is Nelson’s Tour de Test Valley, a cycle Sportive in honour of Nelson Pratt, pro snowboarder and keen cyclist who tragically died in June 2012. The event is a superb cycling sportive with three fantastic routes of 40km, 80km or a hardcore 160km, around the stunning Test Valley, the area that Nelson called home. The routes take in Nelson’s favourite training rides where he spent many a happy hour on his beloved ‘Treader’.

In the run up to the event, Matt Barr of the We Are Looking Sideways podcast interviewed Nelson’s best friend Marcus Chapman, long time snowboarder, ex-editor of the legendary Snowboard UK magazine and Matt said ‘I interviewed Chappers about CALM, Nelly’s legacy, issues around mental health and much more. Its a good one that hopefully helps add to the debate around mental health, and Marcus should be applauded for his own honesty. We go into quite a lot of detail about where the money goes, the actual effect it’s had, as well as Marcus’s own issues and how he’s coped’.
