Burton Custom £510: The most well known board in snowboarding?

If there were ever to be an illustrated dictionary of snowboarding, the Burton Custom would be right next to the entry for ‘all mountain freestyle snowboard’.

Since it’s introduction into the Burton line over 20 years ago, the Custom has always stood for high end all mountain freestyle performance and honours tradition with proven shapes, yet keeps an eye on the future with brand new technologies and profile tweaks. Originally a camber only board, Burton included a hybrid camber version they call the Flying V if you prefer the hybrid style. The Custom has always been a lightweight, dynamic, poppy and versatile snowboard that is equally at home in the park as it is slashing pow turns and this year’s version continues that trend.

Andrew Lindushka said that ‘The Custom camber is still the all mountain slaying beast it always was, carves hard, stable as fuck and pops out of turns’, while The Reason’s first ever photographer Nathan Gallagher said ‘this is the board by which all other boards are measured. It is a staple workhorse of a board which can turn its hooves to most jobs. A seasonaire’s choice’ and Ben from Sputnik said ‘A solid board, it handled everything thrown at it with no issues. Super fun charging but still with good pop off the sides. Rad’
