‘This new shape draws many influences from the iconic YES 420, which means the board creates dramatic float in powder due to its increased surface area between the feet. I defy anyone to sink this thing – deep powder has honestly never been more enjoyable. Once the big open powder fields are over at you inevitably have to pick your way through some tree lines and this is where the Optimistic really surprised. I thought the long nose may become tricky to handle, but this board delivers incredible control in tight situations. I cannot tell you how many times I have strapped on a freeride board that claims to float like nothing else, just to find that it is slow and unresponsive when not in powder, however, this board is incredible on the groomers as well. The ultra-aggressive side cut and underbite technology means that once the board is on edge, the carves you can lay down are guaranteed to put a smile on your face’
