Park Life: Snowpark Alpendorf

Snowpark Alpendorf: A secret to share

Stunning weather, an awesome park, highly motivated riders and excited videographers and photographers. Those would be the ingredients of choice for a perfect film and photo shooting on the mountain. Last weekend we were lucky enough to find exactly these conditions at Snowpark Alpendorf in St. Johann im Pongau.

Snowpark Alpendorf in the Snow Space Salzburg is a special insider tip for freestylers who are keen to shred a top-notch set-up on a sun-kissed mountain slope. However, some secrets are meant to be shared and because we love to help fellow shredders we are thrilled to let you know that the park was location of an extremely nice film and photo shoot last Saturday.  Nice because bluebird days on the mountain are always nice. Extremely nice because both riders and media crew were stoked about the session in this park, which was still new for many of those present.

„It‘s been my first time at Snowpark Alpendorf and I absolutely love it!“, says videographer Denis Janezic with a huge smile on his face. „The terrain is ideal for follow runs, because the sun is basically shining on the park all day”. Snowboarder Henrik Meyn agrees with the man behind the camera and adds: „It was also my first time in this park and I didn’t expect it to be that awesome!” Henrik is totally stoked about the chilled set-up, especially the rails are „extremely sweet”. He also highlights the convenient park lift which takes you straight back to the start of the park, allowing you to maximize your laps. The snowboard edit shows you in color and in motion how much fun he had on his runs.

Also head shaper Sebastian Baumgärtner, one of the hosts of the whole spectacle, was all smiles after the shoot:  „I have to say that the level of the riders was extremely high and everyone was super motivated and in a great mood!“ As head shaper of the snow park he especially enjoys to see how much fun the boys have in the park for which he is responsible. „It was also really cool that everyone tried new tricks and no one got injured”.

Tim van Dyck, twintip artist and rail machine, is a regular at Snowpark Alpendorf and can’t praise the park and its set-up highly enough. „The park has gone through an awesome development during the last years but this season it is especially sweet! The kickers have a decent size. You can essentially jump all basic tricks. And the rails are really awesome.” He also points out how cool it is that the length of the park matches the length of the adjacent lift. „You can really run a lot of laps throughout the day and apart from the school holidays there are usually not a lot of riders“. – Not yet! Sorry Tim, but we couldn´t hold ourselves back and just had to share this insider tip.

Everyone who is now keen to visit the Snowpark Alpendorf should enter 11 February 2018 in their calendars, when the Cash 4 Tricks Tour by Ski amadé stops off at the Snow Space Salzburg. Until then you can find further information on the park on our website and the latest news on Facebook.
