What with all the new movies out and Avoriaz getting its first decent sprinkle of snow today I expect everybody’s snowboarding itch has turned into, well, an unsightly rash. Never fear! For some early season relief Park Hill Snowboard Camp is alive and kicking again this year for some fun on the Hintertux Glacier near Mayerhofen, Austria. Got a week’s holiday left in your working calendar? Book it off 18-26 October.
This is a chance to get your freestyle game underway for the season with weekly coaching sessions from some of the best kicker and rail riders in THE WORLD, who will be swinging by to get warmed up for the season. Freestyle coaching will be held daily on Hintertux’s Betterpark with different freestyle clinics held to suit all levels, with rookie coaching and Chicky Clinics will also be there for girls only coaching. What’s more Bataleon and Switchback will have their very own test centre at Park Hill where you can demo this season’s bindings and boards for free – if these guys aren’t on your shopping list this year then you’re missing out.
Staying at the Ultimate snowboarders retreat ‘The Gasthof’ in Mayrhofen packages include board, lift passes, transfers, food and coaching and I’ve been told there will be classic “camp vibes” all week (think Mt Hood, not Chicago).
