And so it begins!

Get up the Road!

The Scottish hills have seen steady snowfall this week and, combined with the snow cannons, means both Cairngorm and The Lecht are hoping to open this weekend.

The Lecht plans to have 4 or 5 lifts open subject to weather and Cairngorm will give more details later today but are expecting the Ciste to be open accessing the Fairway , Traverse, Cas and Zig Zags runs.

Glencoe, Nevis Range and Glenshee still need a little more snow to open but it’s going in the right direction.

The forecast for The Lecht and Carirngorm this weekend is for temperatures to remain below freezing all weekend with Saturday being cloudy and windy before it clears and settles for Sunday which is shaping up to be an excellent day with “Bright Sunshine and Superb Visibility” according to M.W.I.S.  For full details  visithttp://mwis.org.uk/vrnfvsstk/EH.PDF

Backcountry and Freestlye options will be very limited at this stage due to limited snow and focus being on getting the runs ready.

There’s more snow in the forecast for early next week and we’ll keep you updated as conditions improve.
